This hand-crafted, vintage style, bronze necklace reads "Be still my soul" and was inspired by an old Christian hymn written by Kathrina von Schlegel in 1752. Beautifully accented with a treble clef charm, and a large AA freshwater pearl.
This hymn was reportedly the favorite of 1924 Olympian, Eric Liddell, who famously refused to run on the Sabbath. Liddell's story is portrayed in the movie Chariots of Fire. Liddell later became a missionary in China, and was imprisoned during World War II. He is said to have taught this hymn to others in the prison camp. We pray that the message brings comfort and peace as you dwell in the presence of God.
"Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side.
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change, He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heavenly Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end."
