  Step 2: Use a flexible measuring tape, ribbon, string, or even a strip of paper and wrap it snugly around your hand at the widest point, usually at the knuckles and base of the thumb. Mark the place where the strip comes together. The circumference of your hand can then be determined by using a ruler to measure the length of the tape, ribbon, string, or strip of paper.
