"The most beautiful stones have been washed by the waters and polished to brilliance by life's strongest storms." May the elegant simplicity of these encouraging words help to ignite a sense of gratitude, comfort, and strength within the darkness.
Life's painful seasons provide an opportunity for us to truly, personally, experience God's majestic ability to bring forth beauty when all else seems lost. The apostle Paul states in Romans 5:2-5 "we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us."
Those who have known struggle, defeat, loss, and sorrow regain strength and emerge all the more beautiful, for the pain gives rise to honest compassion, understanding, gentleness, and appreciation. Allow your wounds to turn to wisdom. Trust and know that Christ gives beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. Do not lose hope, the hand of God is upon you and He makes everything beautiful in its time.
